Enriching lives: Robin Layne returns to CFO Strategic Partners to lead controller division

Posted on: March 27th, 2019

At CFO Strategic Partners, we’ve been excited to announce our strategic controller division. While our team of CFOs delivers extraordinary value in providing strategic solutions, financial strategies, and executive level leadership to our clients, we have identified that there are often projects or tasks that can be completed by a qualified controller providing a more effective cost structure and more value to our clients.

But though this division provides more value to our clients, we are just as excited about who’s leading it. Controller Robin Layne returned to CFO Strategic Partners to take on this new role. Robin was an excellent choice not only for her extensive financial knowledge and strong leadership abilities, but because she perfectly embodies so many of CFO Strategic Partners’ core values.

Robin Layne, Controller

Some of our longtime clients might remember Robin from her time with CFO Strategic Partners from 2006 to 2011. She came to us with 15 years of experience with Sprint/United Telephone and Ashpaugh & Sculco, CPAs. As a controller, Robin helped provide essential monthly financial results for our clients.

In her time away from CFO Strategic Partners, she gained additional experience at both the controller and CFO level.

Throughout her experiences gained and increasing responsibilities, Robin didn’t forget about CFO Strategic Partners, and we didn’t forget about her. When the opportunity to lead the controller division came up, Robin was beginning her own search for a new and challenging opportunity, and we were fortunate that Robin was able to return to the CFO family.

“Robin is a dear friend and an outstanding professional. During her time with us, she provided exceptional support and bench strength for the entire team,” said Shannon Carbone, CEO and founder of CFO Strategic Partners. “With the financial and managerial experience she has acquired over her career, she was an obvious choice to lead the controller division.”

In her role, Robin leads a team of skilled controllers who provide many of the same services Robin has honed over her career. These controllers work hard for our clients and alongside the team of CFOs to provide bookkeeping support, help with special projects needed, prepare financial reports, monitor budgets and more.

“I’m so happy to be back at CFO Strategic Partners,” Robin said. “It was an honor to be part of the organization during its early years, and it’s wonderful to see it come full circle as I return during its 20th year.

“Shannon gave me the chance to grow then, and I’m humbled by the opportunity to help grow our new division, working closely with the leadership team, our CFOs and these talented strategic controllers.”

Robin is an outstanding example of our mission to enrich lives. We want our employees and our clients to feel fulfilled, meeting their goals at work and in life. Robin’s story illustrates that perfectly, and we look forward to seeing her help others do the same.
